Vladimir Mayakovsky

was born in Bagdadi (now Mayakovsky) Russia in 1883 and moved to Moscow in 1906. In 1910 he was one of the founders of the Futurist Group. As a poet, playwright and painter, Mayakovsky was deeply involved in the Russian Revolution — producing propaganda, plays, poems, and posters of high artistic order. In 1923 he founded the Futurist Literary , LEF. Mayakovsky shot himself in 1930 at the age of thirty-six. Today, he is considered in Russia and throughout the world, as one of the twentieth century’s foremost poets.
