Tony Conran is a poet, critic and playwright, also well-known for his translations of Welsh language poetry. Two of his collections, Blodeuwedd (1988) and Castles (1993) were awarded prizes by the Arts Council of Wales and BBC Arts Awards. In 1995, writers and friends collaborated to celebrate his literary achievements with a book called Thirteen Ways of Looking at Tony Conran. Since then he has published three collections of poetry: Eros Proposes a Toast (1998), Theatre of Flowers (1998), and A Ganymede Symphony (1999).
