Mendy Knott is a former Fulton County police office twice nominated for Officer of the Year. She received an honorable discharge from the US Air Force in 1982. She has published poems in Amethyst and wrote a one-act play which was performed in Outproud Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. She has published a collection of poems entitled Profound, Profane or Sacred, and a spoken-word album, Climbing Mt. Pisgah. She lives in Burnsville, NC.
