Louis Bourne spent 32 years in Madrid and now teaches Spanish at Georgia College & State University. His most recent books of translation include Memory of the Fire: Selected Poems 1989–2000 by Justo Jorge Padron, Signs On Some Bark by Clara Janes, and The Crackling Sun by Vincente Aleixandre. His grandfather, Louis Bourne the 1st, was author of the 1909 Asheville Code, containing the charter and ordinances for the city of Asheville, NC.
