Jack Hirschman has worked for two decades as a revolutionary poet, translator, and painter for the struggles of the poor, the homeless, the marginalized, and the culturally exploited. In the eighties, he helped found the Union of Left Writers and the Jacques Roumain Cultural Brigade. Among his many books are Black Allephs, Lyripol, Endless Threshold, The Bottom Line, and The Xibalba Arcane. Front Lines, a compilation of selected poems from 1952–2001, was published last year by City Lights Books.
