David Lawrence is a poet, actor, screenwriter, model, boxer, rapper, professor, and stand-up comic who lives in New York City. Profiles of his life and interviews have appeared on CBS, ABC, MSG, BBC and in such publications as New York Magazine, Men’s Journal, People Magazine and Sports Illustrated. His poems have been published in scores of literary journals, including Shenandoah, The California Quarterly, No Exit, Poetry Motel, Poet Lore, and Chimera. His first collection of poems, Dementia Pugilistica, was published in the Mudfish Poets Series in 1999. Lawrence has also written a novel, entitled American Risk. He teaches boxing at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn. NY.
