Bobi Jones was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1929. He is a poet, novelist, critic and scholar who has been a constant voice in the struggle for Welsh autonomy and self-rule. Among his many books are Y Gan Gyntaf, Ci Wrth y Drws (Dog At The Door), and his magnum opus Hunllef Arthur Cerdd (Arthur’s Nightmare), which is the longest sustained verse poem in the Welsh language. Much of his work is devoted to the subjects of Welsh myth and mysticism and the cultural importance of defending the Welsh heritage. His book, Spirit of the Knot, was named Welsh Book Of The Year in 1999.
