Ann Dunn is a poet, choreographer, playwright, dance historian/critic, performance artist and educator. She has received over $50,000 in grants and fellowships since 1976. Her poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies including The Carolina Quarterly, Mid-American, and Dekalb. She is director of The Ann Dunn Dancers, a company she founded in 1980, and the Asheville Youth Ballet. She is the owner of the Asheville Academy of Ballet and Contemporary Dance whose students have continued their careers all over the world.
