Ana Minga, born in the distant southern town of Loja in 1983, won a major poetry prize from the Fine Arts Museum of Quito before the age of twenty. Then she won first prize from the Central University of Ecuador for her collection, Pandemonium. She went on to win the University’s Silver Medal for Poetry in 2006. Her work appeared, for the first time in English, this summer in Per Contra, an online literary magazine.
